Rick McCarthy – Manager of Annual Giving

Meet Rick.

Rick McCarthy, AKA Ponyboy is no longer the newest team member. Having joined us in November, he’s quickly become an integral part of the leadership team at the Foundation. As the Manager of Annual Giving, Rick oversees many of the amazing relationships with donors and groups who organize fundraising events. Why Ponyboy you ask? Well, take a gander at this video. You might just recognize the pitcher at 44 seconds in, from the Canadian television series, The Pit Pony.

Rick recently moved back to Cape Breton with his wife Jaleesa to start a life and family at home – in Cape Breton. Rick’s talents for project management and ‘outside-of-the-box’ thinking are helping the Foundation move to a new level of excellence. Although he’s Glace Bay born and raised, Rick is a new Shipyarder and equally proud of his Bay roots and his new home.

He’s excited to be making a real difference in Cape Breton and fits into the team like a glove.
