Meet Carolyn - financial officer

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing you to the team at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation, this week we’d like you to meet our Financial Officer, Carolyn. 

Carolyn Aker is not only our financial officer, she’s also the team member who puts a smile on our faces, even on a rainy Monday. You can find Carolyn, aka Coldy Locks, wrapped in 2 scarves and 3 sweaters, madly typing away in a spreadsheet. If it has numbers, Carolyn loves it. Carolyn is the proud mother of four boys and when she’s not at the foundation office accounting for every single cent generously donated by Cape Bretoners, you can find her at home “studying for social studies 8” or “reading English 11 books” to help her boys.

Carolyn is a perfectionist and we wouldn’t have it any other way. When a professional looks at our accounting books, they are amazed at how detailed our finances are and how well we take care of our donors’ gifts. 

A North Sydney native currently living in Sydney Mines, Carolyn makes the trek each day to be a part of something great. Coldy Locks may have chilly hands, but her warm personality is perfect for this charity.
