Job Posting: Community Fundraising Officer

JOB TITLE:                            Community Fundraising Officer
DEPARTMENT:                  Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation
REPORTS TO:                      Manager of Annual Giving

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

The Community Fundraising Officer will play a significant role in the Foundation’s annual fundraising campaign. The Officer will manage accounts, have clear fundraising goals, manage a memorial and tribute program and lead two of the Foundation’s signature events.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage a portfolio of 75 accounts, which includes retail, corporate, 3rd party and community events
  • Work with volunteer committees to execute and grow two of the Foundation’s signature events (the Because You Care Cup and the annual Play Fore Kids Golf Classic)
  • Manage the Foundation’s memorial and tribute program
  • Represent the Foundation at community events where appropriate
  • Research marketplace to determine new opportunities for partnerships and community support
  • Contribute in a collaborative and productive manner to Foundation-wide fundraising programs and initiatives.  Work closely with Foundation colleagues to share knowledge, resources and optimize opportunities for donors.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Annual Giving and/or CEO

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Business, Public Relations or Marketing
  • Experience managing accounts and/or relationships
  • Demonstrated experience reaching revenue/fundraising targets
  • Two or more years of experience in an event management role
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is considered an asset
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
