Harbour Wars

Nestled in a little community outside of St. Peter’s, Richmond Countylies the fishing community of Little Harbour. This small community, with a big heart, hosted an event that raised more than $23,000 for cancer patients in Cape Breton. The first annual Harbour Wars was a friendly skills competition among the fishing community to raise money for the Cancer Patient Care Fund.

The top team, 'Grandpère's Boys' won $1,000 and donated their winnings back to the fund. This fun event challenged Richmond County’s fishing industry to raise money and compete in fun events: Cod Fish Shuffle, Fish Filleting, Dory Races, Nautical Obstacle Course and Tug of War. 100% of the money raised went directly to supporting cancer patients dealing with the financial uncertainty that comes along with a cancer diagnosis. Harbour Wars will be back on August 22, 2020.

~ Harbour Wars will take place on August 24, 2019. It's a friendly skills competition among local fishermen/women to raise money for the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation’s Cancer Patient Care Fund while also showcasing our thriving local fishing industry.
